But what is this object used for?

The Eye of Udjat is a protective symbol dating back to ancient Egypt. This symbol has its origins in Egyptian mythology: Horus, son of Isis and Osiris, fought his uncle Seth to avenge his father. During this fight, Seth tore out one of his eyes and cut it into pieces, which he threw into the Nile. The eye was then reconstituted, thus creating the Eye of Udjat.

This eye would protect against bad luck and would have a magical function, linked to the prevention of illnesses and the vision of the invisible.

Today, presented on a museum-style base which makes it an unusual curiosity!
